HAPPY NEW YEAR

Today is the end of the year and the end of this year long project.  This is the last hat in this series.  I think this hat is appropriate for new year's eve.  The midnight blue yarn is very shiny (and very slippery) and gives a fancy party look to mark the occasion.  I hope you like it and I hope you have enjoyed seeing the hats created during this year.  Let's see what next year brings.  HUGS!

CHOCO-MINT

I just love chocolate mint ice cream.  The colors in this hat remind me of it.  But this hat brings warmth, not coolness, to the head.  And, that's good, too.

BLUE SPECK

Extra thick because it is double knit.  Nice and toasty for this time of the year.  Keeps those ears warm!!  Hey, aren't the days getting longer now??

This is a repeat performance hat.  I brought it back for this special day.  It is Ana's fifth birthday today and she looks so sweet in this hat.  It is very soft and comfy on her head.  She's just adorable!!  H.B., Ana and many many more.

SOFT AS SOCKS

This Christmas stocking reminded me that this hat, which is knit from some very soft yarn, would also make a very snuggly pair of socks if the yarn was used to make socks instead of the hat.  But, it's a hat.  Still soft, though.  Still snuggly.  Does this make any sense to you?   mmmmm...soft

HOLIDAY BELL

It's really just a hat, haha, but it looks like a fuzzy bell from this angle.  And, what a pretty ornament!

           Ouch!!  Very soft to the touch hat and very prickly to the touch cactus plant.   Watch it!!!

PINK PUFFS

It's hard to see the color of this hat because I took the picture while I was standing in the shade. It is a light rosy pink with a white band around the bottom.  The yarn is very soft.  The hat is sort of puffy...like the clouds.  See the tassel blowing in the wind.

What a contrast!  A grey hat pictured in the darkness of night.  And yet the softness of the yarns breaks through the harshness of the stark differences in color.  Yikes!  I'm speakin' too artsy-like.  eeesh!  enough already.

The door decorations are hung and everything looks so festive.  Here's a nice thick hat for the season. It will ward off the cold and keep somebody's head super warm.  Nice color, too.

WILD THINGS

Where the wild things grow there is beauty and ...danger?  Yowza!!  A rubber dinosaur is about to eat this lovely hat.  Well, the hat looks like a purple toad stool so I guess it may be tasty...to a rubber dinosaur.   Very lovely hat.  The dino?  Scary.

BOUNTIFUL HARVEST

I came across this wonderful yard display of Fall vegetables and I thought it would make a beautiful backdrop for this hat picture.  The hat was knit from my abundant supply of brown tone yarns (matches the leaf) and it is the perfect color and thickness for this time of the year.  Those ears will be kept warm with this hat!  That's for sure!!

STURDYBUILT

This is a thick one.  You can see that it is double knit and very sturdy/durable.  It is very warm especially around the brim in the ear area.  Don't let the blue sky fool you.  It's cold outside today.  Built right.  Sturdybuilt.

It really does.  Light and airy.  Reminds me of the merengue cookies my Mom used to make.  You know what I'm talking about.  They melt in your mouth as soon as you put one in (your mouth).  What a great memory.  Yummy, too.

RESTORATION

There is worth in taking the old and restoring it for posterity.  Old houses.  Bits of yarn.  Both can be made anew into something useful.  Restore the Dickey house in Texas.  Make a new hat.  The same.

Ya, just pulled that name out of nowhere.  But...this hat is double knit tough and, oh so warm.

                             Well, this is a nice brown tweed hat, don't you think??  Ya, me too!!

AMBER

Perfect coloring for a hat called AMBER.  I made this double knit hat from brown speckled yarn and a multi colored fine and fluffy yarn.  Together they make a very nice combination for the Fall season and for a lovely young woman who is celebrating her 19th birthday today.  H.B.  Amber.

HARVEST TIME

The colors in this hat remind me of the autumn season and that also reminds me of the gathering in of the seasons harvest.  This is my favorite time of the year.

Since today is Friday the Thirteenth I thought I would post something that is the complete opposite of  unlucky... and call it lucky.  Actually this hat doesn't have anything to do with luck.  There was a lot of planning that went into the making of this hat.  It is made from some very soft pastel yarns which give it a very Spring-like look.  It's a cute-y.  Called Lucky.    ta da

the CITY SKYLINE

I really like this hat.  It is made from three different yarns.  I started and ended with the soft oatmeal colored yarn and added a band of fluffy brown yarn and a section of a very light neutral toned soft yarn.  The colors blend so well and the texture is just right.  Soft on the ears and warm on the head.

the VETERAN

In honor of Veteran's Day here is a red, white and blue knit hat styled for this very patriotic national holiday.  When you see a Veteran, say thanks.       Thanks!
