the LARRY
I don't know why, but I think this hat looks like a hat Larry would wear. While gardening. In the Spring. In the Mum patch. (pretty colors, huh?)

BENNETT
Here's to you Dad on your birth date. 98 years ago today. This hat went to the Grotto in Portland, Oregon and was blessed many times over. Seems like an appropriate hat for a minister. I made this hat with little chevron patterns knit into it. It's really a top notch style hat for a top notch kind of guy. H.B. Dad!!! H.B.

OATMEAL.....yum!
Just like a hot bowl of oatmeal on a cold wintry morning warms the tummy, so does this oatmeal colored knit hat warm the head on that same cold wintry day. Early preparations for winter are under way. The days are getting shorter now, you know. ummmm.....I think I hear smack-y lips sounds.

the ODDS AND ENDS
Leftovers. That's what this hat is made from. And aren't they tasty? I'm mean pretty. The colors. The knit pattern. The weight. Oh, the weight! The heavy duty stuff went into this one. Toasty warm and ready for a very cold blustery day. It's about 80 degrees outside today but I'll be ready for cold weather and it will be here soon enough. What a mix of odds and ends. Just right.

the FOREST
I think the shades of green in this hat look like the various shades of green in the forest as sunlight bounces off of the leaves and the pine boughs. Very cool and refreshing. The hat, though, is snuggly warm and very comfy to wear. (I can hear the wind whistling through the trees, too...sort of...maybe)

the PURPLE PEOPLE HEATER
This is a very snuggly hat with the perfect name. Keeps the head warm and looks good, too. Reminds me of a song I heard on the radio many years ago when I was a girl. One eye, one horn and it flies. hahaha

the P B and J
...that's pieces, bits and jems (with a j). That's basically what this hat is made from. I emptied the yarn bag and picked out an assortment of things (small leftovers) from previous projects and knit them together to make this hat. The colors of the peanut butter and the jam seem to be present in the hat. YUMMY!!! ..... and fun to wear.

the JUST HORSE-ING AROUND
On a visit to Salem's Riverfront Carousel I was able to give this hat a ride on a horse. Who's happier? The horse wearing the cool hat or me watching the horse wearing a cool hat? That would be me. Enjoy your day.

the SPRING TWEED
The color of the wool and the surroundings inspired the name for this hat but the thickness of the hat really places it in the winter category. The heavy knit will keep any head warm!! Love the colors.

the PURPLE AND ORANGE
I know there's a school in the ACC with these colors. It is a rival school and I really don't need to mention their name (although I'm sure they're a top notch university) but if you are in South Carolina, you know who I'm talking about. This hat is top notch, too. Go, team, go!!

the BLUE BELLE
This little roll brim hat is made from lightweight yarn and would be the perfect choice for a cool morning stroll through the garden. I mixed white yarn with bits of turquoise verigated yarn to achieve this color combination. Light as a feather. Pretty as a posey.

the SWEET MELODY
This hat is knit from soft bulky yarn. The yarn feels so-o-o good and the heather tones of the tweedy yarn blend are so-o-o pretty. They create their own sweet melody.

the PARK HIGH
Many years ago on a Friday night in June Pomp and Circumstances vibrated throughout the football field at St. Louis Park High School as graduates marched onto the field and took their seats. Parental pride was on display in the grandstands. It was a big night for celebrating and a milestone in our educational careers was achieved. The school colors are orange and black and we are the Orioles. So, here's to you, graduates of the class of 2015. May your dreams be realized.

HELEN
I know someone who looked beautiful in pastel colors, especially blue, and she worn them with style. She loved to wear hats as a young woman and she very definitely developed her own personal style. She was always impeccably groomed and beautifully dressed for every occasion. A quiet, somewhat shy and gracious lady at social gatherings, she was always the perfect hostess at home. Her eyes were light blue and she looked beautiful in light blue. That's my Mom. H. B. And love.
